Quickbook error 6183-83 generally comes when the company file is not located on the local system resources you when you don’t have proper writing or reading permission of the QuickBooks company file or when there is some network issue.
To fix this error, you need to be sure that the QuickBooks data service has complete access permission or not. Name of the QuickBooks data services based on the version of QuickBooks you are currently running.
Solutions :
Solution 1 : When the company file is on your computer.
Quit any running instances of the quickbook and restart qucikbook.

Verify hosting:
For this you need to open quickbook on each PC and pressing to press F2 button to open the product information window.
o Server(Hosting Computer):
a. Check the local server information in the lower left side of the window to verify that hosting is set to local files only or local and remote files.
b. If the hosting is set to “off” choose file> Utilities > Host Multi-User Access and follow the appearing prompts on your windows.
Note: but if you have already installed the QuickBook Database ServerManager then follow the step 2.
• Client computers (Workstations):
o In each of your PC, check out the local server information section in the lower left corner of the window to make sure that the hosting is turned off.
o If it is set to off then choose File >Utilities > Stop Hosting Multi-User Access option and follow the screen prompts.
o After that open the QuickBook Database Server Manager and scan folders. As this creates the *.nd file that allows multi user access.
